Released on 2025-04-30
We are pleased to announce that twin version 25.4 is available. In this document you will find all the new features, improvements and fixed issues. If you encounter any problems during installation or during execution, please contact us by e-mail to info@digifai.com.
Note
In twin 25.8 we will update the PLCConnector to support Siemens S7-PLCSIM Advanced 6
.
Due to a change in the new version of Siemens S7-PLCSIM Advanced
the PLCConnector cannot connect to versions older than 6.
If you are using Siemens S7-PLCSIM Advanced
, please update your installation to the latest version.
New features
- With the new Sequence simulation component, we have reinvented the way you create sequences to control the simulation without programming skills. For more information, check out our video guides.
- You can now easily move 3D objects by just drag & drop them in the
3D View
window. - You can now also pick negative axis when using the axis picker.
- All source simulation components that generate 3D objects now have a new input to remove all generated 3D objects. Please refer to the documentation of the BoxSource, Object3DFileSource, Object3DSource and SphereSource for more information.
Improvements
- Opening twin projects is now even faster.
- Importing large twin projects is now even faster.
- In the
Selected Simulation Component
window you can now see the current value of a linked input. - We have cleaned-up local and global axis and points in the simulation components. Now all axis and points are defined in the global coordinate-system.
- The setting
Show coordinate system of selected 3d-object
is now enabled by default. - GenericRobotController: The job list now fills the available screen space.
Fixed issues
- Fixed a problem that caused the simulation to crash when a KinematicGripper was used.
- InputSwitch outputs were not reset on simulation reset.
- Import of STEP files with incomplete header now works.
- Under certain circumstances the IntervalTrigger did not fire at simulation start.
- When renaming a simulation component, the name of a linked input was not updated in the
Selected Simulation Component
window. - Fixed issue where duplicating or grouping 3D objects could result in incorrect selection or visibility in the
3D View
window. - After importing a very large CAD file, the
3D View
window would be blank. - twin would crash if the default text editor defined in the
Settings
was not available. - For certain sizes of the conveyor object, the direction of a Conveyor's speed indicator was incorrect.
- Moving large groups of 3D objects did not always work as expected.
